Biography
Tassos Alevizos was born in Lefkochora Messinia in 1914. The first courses of drawing he took were in 1927 in Athens studied the university of Fine Arts from 1930 until 1939 sculpture, painting and engraving. Since he was a student he joined the left political party and during the years of possession and resistance he made woodcuts and drew posters for propaganda reasons. In 1948 he was appointed artistic advisor of the lithografer Aspiotis ELKA. He taught graphic arts from 1959 until 1967 at the Athenian technological institute directing the department of graphic arts. With Vaso Katraki they made independent engraving from illustration lending it size and dominance. He died in Athens in 1985.
