Biography
"Valias Semertzidis was born in 1911 in Russia. In 1923 he came to Greece with his family. He attended the first courses near t o n N. Petridis. He studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Athens from 1928 until 1936. From 1923 until 1937 he worked as an illustrator, author of cinematographic posters and schoolteacher of dance. After the war he engaged in engraving and was self-instructive. He travelled to France, Italy and Russia. From 1964 he lived for many years in Rhodes. He died in Athens in 1983."
