Description
The watercolor «Chios-Olives trees», is both chronologically and stylistically in the same climate to the art work «Patissia-Flower garden »of 1943 (Catalog No. 23). This shows a path that to the left and right of it is framed by olive trees and stone houses. In the center there is a figure, probably a farmer. The imaging surface is covered by warm colors.The painter uses the color mixing to achieve greater brilliance and transparency.Both this art work and «Patissia -Flower garden », are situated in the 'real' world and not in the 'dream' or 'fantastic', as in the other landscapes.
