Description
The painting «Hymettus» has the same context with the painting «Phaleron or Attic Landscape» (Catalog No. 304). These are two mountain landscapes. In both of them the artist gives priority to the color which is rendered with wide bushstrokes. He does not pay any attention to depict the landscape in a naturalistic way. Instead he manages to give the character of the Greek nature through the soft color ratings and the distribution of volumes in large surfaces.
