Description
"It is a portrait of advanced tastefulness, with emotive colour and flowing stroke. The young man depicted with the expressive force, the gravity and the witty form of his face resembles with a Saint. The big eyes and the thin characteristics remind the long-thin dynamic forms of Theotokopoulos. In the work all the influences that Fotakis got from the painting of Mouth Athos and from the Byzantine Art in general, are summarised. The drawing dystocia that is realised at the point of the ear should be attributed rather to deliberate simplicity instead of clumsiness.
