Description
Pineios the most important river of the Thessalian land is undoubtly a source of life for its people ,and attracted Gioldasis's interest who several times elaborated his opinions on various seasons of the year. In this work the overflowing of the waters of the river after a flood creates a special unique scene. The high standing spot allows the depiction not only of the river that crosses it but also the vast even land around the palin,The water has covered the front side of the bank of the river and has brought damages to the crops. The dull colours which are eliminated to the tones of ochre and blue attribute artistically the heavy wet atmosphere.
