Description

The work presents two persons: the woman from Atalanti (and other paintinngs carry this title) and Cupid. The second form is found behind the first, we would say in her shade. The woman with the big eyes and the male like characteristics turns to the spectator nevertheless she remains inaccessible. She is wearing a traditional dress and scarf on the head. Cupid, the feathers of whom are equally distinguished, is an ugly presence. He turns his look to the opposite direction than the woman's The painting presents complete absence of setting - only a butterfly splits somehow [the momotony of the background.
