Description
"A wide alfresco street with bare trees on both sides is led perspectively to the depth of painting space, crossing in all the length one green plain.The depth is closed by lines of mountains, while in the plain scattered dry trees are also placed , that however, as those on both sides of the street, come in nonagreement with the total green ground around them.The landscape does not resemble the automnal contrary to the title.Thecold grey colours, the bare branches of the trees round the deserted street make mainly intense the feeling of loneliness and despair, while perhaps the deliberate dissonance of the green in combination with the mauve sky create an irrational whole.
