In this picture two surgeons and a nurse have gathered around a patient . All the figures are caricatures.The doctor in the center of the composition has plunged his hand in the patient's head , which appears to be empty, as the title stresses.Intense black lines surround the simplified and flat formes ; the drawing is generalised and avoids shading or any other kind of process in the interior of the formes. It's about a well elaborated caricature where doctors are successfully satirized and the health system in general as well.
