Municipality of Larissa
Description
«Zakynthos» is one of the early paintings of the artist. It is a panoramic view of the Country of Zakynthos. In the first figurative shot, you can see the countryside surrounding the city, which is depicted realistic. In the middle of the painting spreads the city of Zakynthos. In order to give a sense of distance the painter uses the white color in different grades, and in a few points the brown states the roofs of the buildings. In the background you can see the mountains and the hills of the island. The rocks are shown with intensive shades of light. In a realistic way is depicted also the sea with a single blue colour interrupted by the reflection of buildings in water, but also with the shadows left by the clouds of the sky. The lighting is uniform and widespread.
