Description

It is about a calm, idealized view of a port, which does not resemble the present noisy ports of provincial cities. The main shape of the composition is the diagonal which is formed by the wharf. It goes through the painting and separates it into two parts, the one with the sea and the other with the land which is almost desert. On the wharf, two individual figres and two other small groups are fishing or pullng the fishing nets.A boat is tied up, a sailboat is approaching, while a large ship is distinguished in the horizon. The composition is characterized by the detailed and clear depiction of the shapes, while colorly, is balanced by the mating of earthy tones of brown and cold blue.
