Municipality of Larissa
Description
A typical rural work, that of the harvest,describes with lyrism Yoldasis in this work. A group of men and women,in the first and second level of the painting,is reaping with skythes a part of the rich plain of Thessaly,while the composition closes with the grand volumes of mountains in the background.The simple farmer, attached to his land symbolizes the human toil, the eternal struggle for harness and exploitation of the nature and its goods. Yoldasis attempts and achieves to render this relationship as a participant and not as an observer.
