Description
The painting «Reaper», differs from other works with similar themes, because the artist chooses to display the figure with back to the viewer.The artist put emphasis on the peasant's movement during the harvest. As matter the style of the painting, Argyros seems to be influenced by the dominant trends of the period, but also his work indicates the freedom that characterizes the depiction of the landscape. In this painting the light has a primary role, which is pictured with yellow color and yellow tones, coloring the field and the sky.
