Description
Three women and a man with aristocratic clothing, are sitting on the edge of a small hill in the countryside and they are talking.The hill which covers the biggest part of the painting's composition operates as a direct background of the figures,which are forming a narrow circle in the small downhill. The depiction of the figures is too freely, based on the contrasts of black and white clothing, while the male figure is pictured with his backs to the viewer.The surrounding area is also pictured freely, with tones of green.The little free space on the left side of the painting,is filled with rows of trees, leading from the edge of the hill to the background.
