Description
The subject of this picture is a row of rooftops, in an urban landscape. The composition is organised in three successive horizontal zones. In the first and second one the tiled roofs and the simplified and perspectively given volumes of housesdominate , between which in the depth the cupola of church is distinguished. In the last superior area are drawn in horizontal development though the curved and clean-cut shapings of a mountain. The outlining designing of formes, the application of unreliable prospect and the exceptional simplification of subjects constitute the formal means of a consciously naive expression.
