Description
The project which is entitled «Psyche» is a representative sample of Mathiopoulos works,particularly in the pastel technique. It is a project that is situated in the framework of symbolism.A young female figure is presented with pale outlines. She is semi-naked having her hair in a bun and the stand of her body gives melancholic mood. In her back there are two small wings. The figure is symbolic of the human soul. The colors are pale and the color range is small. This is one of the early allegorical works of Mathiopoulos, that testifies his influence by Nikolaos Gysis work.
