Description
Yoldassis is inspired by the rural life in the plain of Thessaly.In this work he describes a snapshot of the farmers' lifes who are loaded with their products,animals and food, heading towards to the area of the bazaar to sell their products.As regards the composition, the painting is divided into two levels with boundary the Pinios bridge.A large part of the bridge is damaged and we can see the replacement of this part by a wooden construction. At the first level we can see the figures of farmers which seem small in the vastness of the landscape, while the second depicts solely the plain of Thessaly and the majestic mountains in the background of the horizon.This linear perspective is reinforced by the color synthesis of the work, with warm brown tones for the depiction of the land and the cold blue color for the mountains and the sky.
