Description
During his frequent visits around in order to enrich his painting impressions Gioldasis visited Meteora.That's connected to the work Roussani Monastery which depictsone of the most famous monasteries of this famous historical place.Gioldasis choses to depict a quite distant view of the monastery something which allows him to include the theme in the wider imposing but also harsh scene. The massive rocks with their wild distribution and their sharp edges cover almost entirely the surface of the board and create a particular scene where complete dominance of nature on human works is emphasised.
