Description

The work is strongly reminiscent of the 'Expectancy' of Nikiforos Lytras. It shows a woman in front of a threshold and raised on a stool cutting a clove from a pot. The woman wears the Greek traditional costume and is barefoot, geared to the side. In the landing there is a dead nature with the woman's shoes, a scarf, a jar and a basket. At the top of the left there is an opening demonstrating the sky. The attribution of the scene is academic and it is a representative sample of the prevailing trend to focus on specific scenes. The golden tonnes are strong in this project and the dark clothing of women catches the eye of the viewer.
