Description
Annunciation is one of the religious subjects that occupied Sikelioti. In the frame of his usual tactic that abolishes the types of Byzantine and renaisance painting, the scene of Annunciation is transported in modern reality. Protagonists are two vigorous and stylished naked folk girls. The composition is simple and is articulated with base opposition of white-black. On the left white surface Virgin Mary is depicted frontal and crosses her hands with modesty in front of the pubic area . On the right, in a black rectangle is registered the angel, that with a hand it blesses and in the other it holds the cross.
