Description
This picture is a Lithographic reproduction of the famous painting "Wailing" (1920) of Parthenis.At the center dominates the figure of Christ, around of which are gathered the others in a semicircle. The outlines are dotted and cut the figures,while the curve shape is transformed to a key component which culminates the scene of the tragedy. The curve is introduced with the body of Christ and is resumed in the back of the Virgin Mary, in the stand of Ioannis, but also in the hilly landscape of the elliptical background. The stylized tree at the left is also of particular interest, as it is included in later works of the artist.
