Description
Vassileiou here does not create a representation with human forms in order to depict the extract from "[Odes] " by A. Kalvos]. He places the known verses in a decorative frame, on the top part upon which he has painted the cupreous hand that symbolizes t fear. This frame is surrounded by a chain that symbolizes slavery. The presentation of verses in this way, shows the intention of Vassileiou to point out their importance. The frame has frugal decoration. The hand has been attributed with grey tones with the modelling that characterizes Byzantine art.
