Municipality of Larissa
Description
The fragmentary department of a coast constitutes the subject of this work. The surfaces of rocks are propagated in the surface of sea, while one compact rocky elevation dominates at the end of composition on the right. The sea is stormy, the sky is charged with clouds that forebode rain and in the depth the faint outline of one sailor is ditinguished. The picture has a submissive and dramatic character that is submitted by the luminous reflections on the waves and the unspecified yellowish light on the surface of the sky. Free impressionistic type brushstrokes draw the patterns and attribute atmosphere of particular afternoon hour.
