(1906-1994)
Biography
Nikos Chatzikyriakos - Gkikas was born in 1906 in Athens. In 1919 he went to Paris to attend the lyceum of Janson de SaillyA year later he returned to Greece where he simultaneously continued his studies in Leontio Lyceum and attended courses of painting close to Kostis Parthenis. In 1922 he went again to Paris where he took courses of French literature and aesthetics while in 1924 he attended courses of painting and engraving. In 1928 he returned to Greece. From 1930 until 1935 he was back and forth betweenParis and Greece. In 1941 he became professor at the architectural faculty of EMP Ethniko Metsovio Polytechnio where he taught until 1958. He died in Athens in 1994.
